White satin nightdress by Janet Reger. White silk stockings from Wardrobe. Gold leather shoes from Russell and Bromley.
Christmas is the time for sheer, unashamed luxury – and this lingerie is the very ultimate. Set the mood yourself – they’re so beautiful to be caught in unawares; accidentally on purpose, of course!

If anyone from Janet Reger ever reads my blog, please listen to my plea:
Your underwear in the Seventies was pure and utter perfection. Nothing you do now comes within a mile of it. I understand the need to conform to the current styles in underwear (and don’t even get me started on those…) but I can promise you that a range of archive pieces – in silk – would be a success. The cut and construction of your balcony bras leaves Gossard’s Wonderbra in the shade for cleavage, and the unpadded silk triangle bras are more than just triangles – they are unequalled in construction and support. But I’m sick of trying to find more vintage in my size. Other brands embrace their history with archive ranges, even those who don’t have such an impressive archive, so why not you?
Thank you.

Inspirational Editorials: Pretty Cute

They can be worn for a variety of occasions when dressing up is a must — even on your wedding day, if you’rc looking for something different. You can buy them new or you could be lucky, as we were, and find one in perfect condition in a second-hand shop. However, these dresses are quite expensive, second-hand clothes do tend to be over-priced in London, so keep an eye out for equally stunning outfits in your local secondhand shop.

Tweedy Autumn Perfection
Posted: October 14, 2011 Filed under: autumn, bill klein, daywear, kangol, petticoat magazine, seventies fashion, stirling cooper, Vivienne Lynn, wallis 9 CommentsThis spread is everything I love about Autumn and Winter, and how I am often attired. Interesting clothes: textures, colours and embellishments; hats, scarves, tights etc. But sometimes I seem to forget to post more daywear spreads, I suppose because they were often less interestingly photographed and displayed; sometimes even borderline chaotic. But I don’t see why that needs or needed to be. Daytimes can be the most expressive times for me…
This shoot is particularly beautiful and, for me, inspirational.
