Inspirational Images: Biba, 1974

I have this dress in dark blue. (It’s the notorious £50 dress which Barbara Hulanicki feared wouldn’t sell because of the high price. It sold out.) One of these days, I’m actually going to find the occasion to wear it…

I always loved this Dress managed to buy something very similar in pale Turquoise over here in Australia in the 80's still hanging in the Wardrobe for me to smile over 🙂

  2. I love it! That was a costly dress back then, wasn't it? xxxPS Great Marianne Faithfull post yesterday, we've got a Girl On A Motorcycle poster in the kitchen.

  3. Perdita says:

Love the cleavage-hugging corsage. I've just bought a knitted rose brooch, might have to add it to the cleavage of my rose print maxi!

  4. Miss Rayne says:

Yummy, Wish I could get silk jersey to sew up.

Honey, 1974, brings back memories. What a cool but glamorous look.

  6. Oh wow! I think I had this is blue also. In the (my) day I mean. I am envious that you could actually fit into it now, but these are your days. And don't you love the natural and very sexy boobs in the photo? So different from the plastic fantastic of this century. You really should wear it and enjoy.

  7. That was dear back then, but obviously worth it!

  8. Smashingbird says:

You lucky gal, I'm beyond jealous. I bet you look amaazzing in it too! x

  9. I bet it looks fabulous on you. Do you have the turban/scarf to go with it? xx

  10. I SO agree about the natural look. I know not everyone is lucky enough to have a certain type of breast, but surgery isn't the answer. I hate being so short, but I'm not about to go and find a medieval rack on which to stretch myself!! I just can't believe how many 'normal' girls are walking around with plastic in their bodies.Christina, sadly I don't have the turban but I'm sure I could approximate it with a length of fabric!

As you know, I have this in brown and it is my single favourite dress ever…
