Because I can’t splurge anymore/wear that colour/it doesn’t fit me and I want to cry…..

Since I need to blog more, and since there’s an awful lot of amazing vintage out there sold by some awfully amazing sellers which I either can’t afford right now, wear the colour because it makes me look like a blotchy blotch-fest or because the damn thing would never fit me and I want to cry…..I’ve decided to start revealing some of my favourite pieces I think you might like and might like to buy.
Starting with this incredible yellow satin jacket from the wonderful Catbooks1940s. One of my absolute favourite vintage sellers, she is also a truly lovely and special person and we’re pretty much style sisters. Hers is a little more minimalist than mine, but she has the same love of great detailing, clean sweeping lines and collectables-of-the-future modern designers.
This jacket though, is pure British Boutique Movement as translated by American designers. I love that scrumptious Ossie-esque slightly matte satin, the beautiful deco-inspired buttons and the pure BBM cut…..
So make my day, and make me jealous….it’s a steal!!!
Well that took a little longer than I thought…..
Posted: January 29, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized 1 Comment »It’s been a while hasn’t it? Two months to be precise! I must apologise for my very extended absence over the festive period. It’s all a bit long and involved, but it involves a close family member being taken ill, the dreaded tax return of doom and a rather long period of time spent with sparkly tutus all up in my face. I have a very strange life sometimes.
Anyway, I’m slowly reimmersing myself in the much happier world of vintage again and I’m currently working on new goodies to be offered both on the website and on eBay. And, as the new year is a time for reevaluating one’s life, I’ve decided to let go of a few special pieces which had occupied my own closet for rather too long. I only hope they find fabulous new owners out there!
I’m also hoping to vastly increase the number of website listings and therefore reduce the number of ebay listings I offer since I, and I suspect you, am getting rather tired of eBay’s endless fiddling and interfering. It also saves you waiting 5 days to find out if you’ve managed to win the dress of your dreams. With Vintage-a-Peel, you can just snap it up with no waiting and no sniping!
So if you haven’t already, please do bookmark Vintage-a-Peel and this blog for updates on new items!
And just to keep you going for a bit….here are a few sneak previews….shhhhhhh!!!
